A sensitive design in the most extreme climate. Looking to not compromise the delicate nature of the underground permafrost, this design hovers over the land on thermally protected pilotis, and attempts to provide an oasis of biological life in the tundra region of Siberia. Direct access is provided to the entry of the frozen mammoth caves nestled at the base of the adjacent mountain. Inside, a moderate climate is protected from the harsh elements outside, and daylight is filtered through a translucent Nanogel skin layered within glass panels. The Nanogel also provides the insulation for the museum.
(Provided design detailing of Nanogel Exterior Panels, Thermal Casing for foundations and skylights while engaged in the design direction with the principal. Also provided presentation assistance diagramming, rendering & touch-ups while simultaneously monitoring intern production.)
