Interior renovation and expansion of a 4-story 75,000sf museum located in the TV and Film District, Astoria, Queens. Integrating the use of the latest digital technologies and sleek materials, this project looks to express the art of the moving image not only through the galleries, but also as one wanders throughout the entire museum. Folded spaces and wrapped volumes were used to express and entice movement throughout, and allow for digital projections directly onto the surfaces. Environmental considerations were also implemented through mechanical, energy and wastewater efficiency.
